I don't know what the mechanistic basis of this could be. If that were true, how would it have affected your uptake experiments? <br /><br />Is this reasoned correctly? You gave cells the same amounts of DNA of your medium-fragment and short-fragment DNA preps, but this means you gave them 10-40 times more short fragments than medium fragments.
